WHAT WE DO
Our approach to village transformation is holistic and addresses not only the physical needs in a community, but spiritual ones as well. We start by listening to community members. Each community identifies their greatest needs and drives the process of change. We partner with them, providing support, expertise, and practical tools – all in the power and love of Jesus.
The process is not always easy, and it’s sometimes messy. But through tried and proven methods that bring lasting change, entire communities are transformed.
We start with the most critical, urgent needs: water, food, and safety. Long-term, families are equipped to earn income and support themselves. They become healthier, and begin to save and plan for the future. And through it all, they experience the transformative power of God’s love.
A LEGACY OF LOVE
Legacy Of Love goes to the end of the road to serve people in extreme need because we have an extreme calling—to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a broken world. We follow Him to the thirsty. The hungry. Exploited. Traumatized. Forgotten. We Listen. Walk alongside. Equip and train. The thirsty drink clean water, the hungry have food, children learn, the enslaved are free, the hopeless find peace with God.
WHAT WE DO
Make trips to Africa twice per year to strengthen relationships with the community as well as local leaders and our team on the ground
Provide food, clothes, school fees, and social support to orphans and widows.

OUR PROJECT
An Old Person’s Home In Goma
Besides the catastrophic 32 years of the dictatorial reign of the ancient regime, there is also the war taking place in our country since the recent six years. Among categories of the vulnerable population that paid for the heavy tribute of this war, there are next to women and children, the aged people. Indeed, most our old men live in misery : lack of indemnities of retirement, lack of appropriate social politics, abandoned by members of the family because of so called sorcery witch actually, rather hide a confession of impotence to provide to the person’s needs actually. And on this point, the situation is more desperate for those who don’t have any children.
Problems of the ageing in Democratic Republic of Congo, can be summarized in the following points: ageing and discrimination of the society, ageing and productivity, ageing and health care, ageing and HIV/AIDS, ageing and human rights.
There are nearly no indemnities of retirement ; The average allowance are around 10 US$ dollars per month. So people cannot save money; to prepare their retirement ; the distrust of youth (conflict of generations) ; young people see in the older persons only sorcery and evil spell… absence of a governmental politics in social security matter.
These states of poverty and inactivity make that on 10 retired persons, 7 of them die of nervous depression.
In spite of all our good will and our compassion, seeing the precariousness in which live the old people in all visited places, our action is limited very for lack of funding. Sometimes, we bring food and clothes specially to women. In addition to these actions, Legacy Of Love is working hardly to reconcile young persons and old ones.
“Providing care for the elderly is a growing problem in the DRC and a top priority for our foundation,” explained Djuna Kashira, founder of Legacy Of Love.
